Who we are
This website is operated by Direct Meadow LLC, 200 S Biscayne Blvd, Suite 2800, Miami, FL 33131, USA. For any privacy question, write to contact@directmeadow.com or call +1-305-555-4354.
Information we collect
Information you give us
If you email us or use the details on our Contact page, we receive whatever you choose to include — typically your name, your email address and the content of your message. We use it to answer you and to keep a record of the correspondence.
The newsletter form on our home page
The signup form on the article page is handled entirely inside your browser. It checks the shape of the address you type and then displays a confirmation on screen. Nothing is transmitted to our servers and nothing is stored by us. If we introduce a genuine mailing list in future, this policy will be updated before that happens and the page will say so plainly.
Information collected automatically
Like most websites, our hosting provider records standard technical data when a page is requested: IP address, browser and device type, referring page, the pages viewed and the time of the request. This is used for security, troubleshooting and understanding overall traffic patterns.
Cookies and similar technologies
We use a small number of cookies and equivalent browser storage. Strictly necessary items keep the site working and remember your choice on the cookie banner, which is stored locally in your own browser. Analytics items, where used, help us understand which guides are read and where readers leave. You can refuse non-essential items using the banner, and you can clear or block cookies at any time in your browser settings. Blocking them will not stop you reading the site.
Analytics
We may use a privacy-conscious analytics service to produce aggregate reports about page views and traffic sources. These reports do not identify individual readers to us. Where a third-party analytics provider is used, that provider processes data under its own policy as our service provider.
How we use information
- To publish, operate and secure this website.
- To respond to messages you send us.
- To understand, in aggregate, which content is useful.
- To comply with legal obligations and to protect our rights.
What we do not do
We do not sell personal information. We do not share your email address with advertisers. We do not add people to mailing lists without a clear request, and there is no list to add anyone to at present.
Sharing
We share information only with service providers who help us run the site — hosting, email delivery, analytics — and only as needed for those functions. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect the rights, safety or property of Direct Meadow LLC, our readers or others.
Retention
Correspondence is kept only as long as needed to handle your enquiry and to maintain a reasonable business record. Server logs are retained for a limited period as part of routine hosting operations.
Your choices and rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you, to ask for its correction or deletion, to object to certain processing, and to opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information — noting that we do not sell it. To make a request, email contact@directmeadow.com and describe what you would like us to do. We may need to verify your identity before acting.
Children
This site is intended for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us and we will delete it.
International readers
Our services are operated from the United States. If you access the site from elsewhere, your information may be processed in the United States, where data protection rules may differ from those in your own country.
Security
We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect information in our care. No website or method of transmission is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page shows when it was last revised. Material changes will be described on this page.
