About Direct Meadow
We write plain, practical guides for people who own a patch of grass and would like it to look better next season than it does now.
Who we are
Direct Meadow (directmeadow.com) is a US-based publishing website operated by Direct Meadow LLC from Miami, Florida. We produce written guides on lawn care and home growing: soil, seed selection, sowing and overseeding, irrigation habits, mowing technique, seasonal feeding and the ordinary problems — thatch, moss, weeds, bare patches — that turn up in almost every garden eventually.
What we cover
Our subject is the everyday care of turf grass in home gardens across a range of US climates. That means the difference between cool-season and warm-season grasses, how sun exposure limits what will grow where, why deep and infrequent watering beats a nightly sprinkle, and what mowing height and blade sharpness actually do to a plant. We write for people with a mower, a hose and a limited number of free weekends, not for turf professionals managing sports fields.
Our approach
We start from widely available horticultural guidance — the kind published by cooperative extension services and long-established gardening bodies — and translate it into steps a reader can act on. Where the honest answer is "it depends on your soil", we say so. Where a common practice is a waste of money for most gardens, we say that too.
What we will not do
We do not publish invented statistics, artificial urgency, or promises of guaranteed outcomes. Grass responds to soil, weather, light and time, and none of those can be promised by an article. We describe ranges, timings and habits, and we try to be clear about how much variation to expect between one garden and the next.
Why readers stay
Readers come back because the advice is specific enough to use and honest about its limits. A guide that tells you which product to skip is often more valuable than one that tells you what to buy, and we would rather send you outside with a screwdriver to test your soil than send you to a checkout.
Editorial independence
Our articles are general-information gardening content. They are not professional agronomy, landscaping or soil-science advice for a specific property, and they are not a substitute for guidance from your local cooperative extension service or a qualified professional. You can read the full position on our Disclaimer page.
Who this site is for
We write primarily for US-based home gardeners who want a thicker, healthier lawn without wading through technical literature. If you have a patch that never recovers, a corner that grows moss every spring, or a lawn that looks fine in May and exhausted by August, our guides are aimed at you.
